Unique Tatra Chassis Concept
The Tatra chassis consists of the central "backbone" tube, extending along the whole lenghth of the vehicle, covering all parts of the driveline. The independent, swinging half-axles come out of the "backbone" tube and swing up and down around the backbone tube center line while each wheel copies the profile of the terrain. The rigid backbone tube eliminates any twisting or flexing of the chassis. This allowsTatra trucks to overcome various obstacles at higher speeds than vehicles of conventional design. Tatra's exceptional mobility, as well as unbeatable comfort for the driver and load, while operating off-road or cross-country help make Tatra one of the most desirable vehicles in the field.
